Frequently Asked Questions

What is vocal massage?

Vocal Massage aims to support optimum vocal health, including function and the vocal rehabilitation process by using manual therapy techniques to release the muscles surrounding the larynx.

Vocal Massage is a vital tool for elite singers and professional voice users. Regular treatments may help identify early signs of vocal dysfunction or maladaptation and recalibrate your vocal mechanism to optimal condition, significantly reducing the likelihood of vocal injury.

Do you offer treatments anywhere else besides Oxford?

We offer online self-guided vocal massage treatments if you are unable to attend a session with us in-person.

If you are in the London area, we can see you through the Voice Care Centre.

Where do treatments take place?

All in-person treatments take place at the beautiful Raleigh Park Clinic in Oxford, England.

We are located just off the A34, on the outskirts of Oxford City Centre (Botley). Our own car park, free to both therapists and patients, is situated in front of the clinic and a disabled parking space is available at the entrance.

If you are coming from Oxford Train Station, we recommend taking the U1 bus from Frideswide Square stop to Raleigh Park Road. We are a 4 minute walk up the hill from the bus stop.

How should I prepare for my first treatment?

You will have a 30 minute online initial consultation before coming in person for your first treatment. We believe this is incredibly important in understanding who you are, what you are experiencing vocally, and how we can best support you through manual treatment.

The treatment itself will include a short mini-consultation at the beginning and end of the session. We will work together to find what feels most useful for your voice.

Typically, you can expect to learn 1-2 self-guided stretching or self-massage exercises in your session to support your vocal maintenance after the in-person treatment.
